Unfiltered cloudy apple juice contains 400% more disease-fighting antioxidants than clear apple juice. This also applies to all fruit juices, infiltered allows more heart and cancer fighters in the fruit to enter your system. Men’s Health quotes a recent Polish study that confirms earlier studies on this.

Also, an antioxidant found in fruits is Quercetin, which appears to help respiratory-tract infections. Appalachian State University researchers gave 20 hard-training cyclists 1,000 milligrams of quercetin, or a placebo every day for 5 weeks. Only 5% of the Quercetin athletes developed infections, whle 45% of the placebo athletes did. Quercetin appears to latch onto viruses and prevent them from spreading to other cells, says the lead investigator, David Nieman, Ph.D. You can chew what the athletes chewed: FRS quercetin soft chews (www.frsplus.com).
