Ben and Frank, dogs by their sides, were full of the festive Spirit of Christmas 1760.

• Ben - Dr. Benjamin Franklin, a dog owner who fed his dog as carefully as himself, and only a natural dog diet, first met fellow dog owner Frank- Sir Francis Dashwood, Premier Baronet of Great Britain, in 1760, when Frank became Ben’s superior officer. Soon fast friends, walking their dogs around the estate. The two men, and their dogs, walked and talked and often, had a dog each at their feet by the fire in their evening sherry hour. And many festive seasons together in warmest happiness. Walks around the estate with the dogs, the friendships and bonds grew.

When an animal was killed for the table, the dogs received more than just scraps. It was said they ate better than the servants.
