We had discussed the issue of the search for happiness and bliss before, and it seems appropriate to discuss this further given events out of Tibet. We know that disciples of Guatama Buddha (560-480 B.C.E.) had found their way north into Tibet east down through Asia and up into China, and west as far as Greece and Egypt during the life of Buddha, say around 500 B.C.E. We have discussed how amazing the arrival of the usual three wise men from the east would bring offerings, and search for others with the eyes of diamonds. This is still the practice in Tibet when the holy leader approaches, and enters death. They may spend years, each three must agree after they have looked in the eyes of the new babies of Tibet.
And when they find those diamond eyes, they bow to their new leader on earth. And since Buddha died in 480 B.C.E. and Socrates far to the west was born in 469 B.C.E. this does seem to indicate that when Socrates became the blossoming of democratic, more thoughtful modern ideology about free speech and a belief in a serene divinity over looking all. At his death by a poisoned chalice of hemlock, Socrates spoke gently to his students Aristotle and Plato the he felt he was going to a better place.
And he was sure those who had done this to him for speaking his honest thoughts, and seeing too well, would not be there. Aristotle told this to his student and prize pupil Alexander of Macedonia, who incorporated this into his life. In fact, Alexander risked his life while his soldiers built Alexandria to be the first port at the Nile, to become greater than Athens, yet the supply depot for never ending tropical foods for Greece and north which knew winters.
In contrast, the Rome that evolved after Alexander, held no concept of holy men from the east. And up until they returned with a diamond eye check and then gifts to baby Jesus, they caused not a fuss. So the charlatan behavior of any studies we see of Rome lacks the depth, the soul, the heart and divinity that any holy men they came by, meditating peacefully at some north African oasis as from Eden, his head was soon on a tray. Oh dismay. Have we evolved to this day? Athens again? Or Rome around the world, again and again.
Will we evolve? Is that really what happened? Alexander found that holy man. We know that Egypt owes it to the Isrealites to at least allow them to capture that fresh Nile at Alexandria, you all plenty thrive. Like the River Colorado, if you pass through a desert, you do not splash wastefully into the salty sea. No way, Jose. And as here, Sam, you parted the salty sea, wandered a hopeless triangle for forty years, got ten rules but no map. Sam, we have the map for you. You black hatted ants went right out of a sand storm into a red ant’s nest. And there you itch, calling them a bitch, until into Armaggaden you twitch.
So, science proves Buddha, that the most blissful lives are experienced by those who count their blessings, do acts of kindness daily, savor the joys of life, thank a mentor, learn to forgive, ask for forgiveness, stay close to friends and family, take care of your body, develop strategies to cope with stress and hardship. Those to me, brought up Christian, now more inclined to the quiet gentle Buddha, creates in a person someone deeper to doing good, and seeing self gratifying people as rather pathetic, usually frantic and quite deeply lost.
Like all those hollow Romans in contrast to those thoughtful, noble Greeks, one must go deeper inside, and be much more a boy or girl scout than a corrupting selfish doomed shell of a deeply evolved, happy, blissful kind of person. We choose, and live with our thoughts, words and deeds. And the diamonds, or coal in our eyes, tells it all. I doubt St Peter goes through a list, he looks into your eyes and says Nirvana Door One or Hell’s Elevator Down. PS-the elevator floor is missing,I hear.
Examples of happiness as being deeper than self gratification can be seen in the lifestyles between more God loving democratic Greece with self centered Romans with horses as gods.

I hope you also enjoy this diamond of a story I found involving early American naval history. It tells us more about life aboard ship on that first great and famed naval war vessel of the new America, the mighty USS Constitution. Fondly known as Old Ironsides, which became the legendary first great pride of America at sea. Old Ironsides was a new combat vessel that carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for a crew of 475 officers and men, which was sufficient to carry them six months of sustained operations at sea. Old Ironsides carried no evaporators, which are fresh water distillers.
According to the ship’s log, “On July 27, 1798, the USS Constitution sailed from Boston with a full complement of 475 officers and men. Also on board were 48,600 gallons of fresh water, 7,400 cannon shot, 11,600 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum.” Her mission was to destroy and harass English shipping. On July 27, 1798? History shows the War of Independence over, those Boston Yankees got all they wanted. Surely now, wewere all English speaking members of the same family and friends? Fuddy duddy old English might have thought the Revolutionary zeal was off the American bloom, now that the revolting Americans had their freedom. Eyes on Napoleon, they had given the store away over in America as France went insane, guillotine by head, by the thousands, for decades. Madness in the voice of liberty.
Meanwhile, ignoring all this madness, Old Ironsides and her 475 officers and men arrived in English held Jamaica on 6 October. They took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum. Then they headed for the Spanish held Azores, arriving there 12 November. The ship was provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine. On 18 November, they set sail for England. In the ensuing days they defeated five British men-of-war and captured and scuttled 12 English merchantmen, salvaging only the rum aboard each. By 26 January, their powder and shot were exhausted.
All while Napoleon while preparing his attacks on a hair trigger England, these clowns barf by, cannon shots, whether by Napoleon or Uncle Sam, not well received. Did a war happen in 1812? Why, you may well ask. I received the highest mark in my American high school in grade twelve, and we were not taught this. Only about British bully tactics, and the desire for Canada. Manifest Destiny, and all that. After the Canadians and British occupied “Fort Detroit, did we call it all a draw, and the Canadians went back over the river to Windsor. 1814. It happened.
Meanwhile, before it all came to that, Fort Detroit still freshly in American hands, and though unarmed, the mighty pirates from the USS Constitution, sobering up perhaps, made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. The landing party captured a whiskey distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons of single malt Scotch aboard by dawn. Then they headed home. The USS Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799, with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, no rum, no wine, no whiskey and 38,600 gallons of stagnant water. Sir Walter Raleigh would not have felt that their pirating was quite as wisely managed by these wild new drunks.
Like the US Fed Chairman, Sir Walter Raleigh, a very wiser pirate, would have taken the punch bowl away as the party was beginning to really get going. Diamonds, lads, not just puking over the side rails. Oh, say, can’t you see? No Sir, not while barfing at sea. Sigh. Now these less than diamond minds brought home no diamonds or riches. Instead, they had displayed that they knew how to drink and all throw up, heads down like ostriches as they barfed over the side rails.
And if there was a diamond brain in the lot at the beginning of that journey, he held a lump of coal for brains by the time they got back to Boston., No fusty old 1776 Boston tea party brilliance from these lads: half baked beans for brains by Boston town. Diamond mind John Adams was still alive, he would have thrashed them. His favorite distillery and they brought him not a drop. Those lumps of coal. Oh well live and advance. Sigh, sigh, sigh.

As a remarkable example of diamond souls affecting people beyond what we might imagine, is this true story of Winston Churchill, a bog, and Penicillin. The story seems to speak to the eight most common virtues that researchers in California recently found in people who they studied in search of happiness. The researchers found that those who share these eight virtues have been found to be those who tend to live the longest, report best health in their age and income groups.
These life winners report a more complete sense of a life well lived and that their good life assures them a good death and after life. Truly soft soul loose diamonds . These eight virtues are usually shared by people who are also active in their community, report a belief in a faith, and believe their good deeds and lives will have them welcomed into Heaven or Nirvana or a Happy Hunting Ground.
These virtues are to count your blessings, do acts of kindness, savor the joys of life, thank a mentor, learn to forgive, stay close to family and friends, take care of your body, and develop strategies to cope with stress and hardship. You can almost count them off in this story. This is a story of human Brilliant Diamond Souls . In this case the name of the good man was a poor Scottish farmer name Fleming.
One day while working in his field, he heard a scream for help coming from the bog next to his farm. Fleming dropped his tools and ran to the bog. Here he saw a frightened boy, already sunk to his waist in the swampy black bog. Fleming waded in and grabbed the lad and dragged him to the firm ground, helped him to clean off, and saw him on his way as his family was visiting nearby.
The very next day a grand carriage pulled up to the Scotsman’s small hut. An expensively dressed gentleman stepped out. He shook hands and said he was the father of the lad that the farmer saved. He wanted to pay Fleming, who thanked him but refused. The reward was all in the good deed. And although their life was simple, it was good. At that moment the son of the farmer, about the same age as the young rich lad, appeared at the door.
The gentleman asked if that was the son of the farmer, who proudly confirmed that it was. And the gentleman proposed a deal that the farmer did agree to. And that was to take the lad and pay for the finest education that his own son would enjoy. The farmer agreed and young Fleming did become a famed physician. Fleming later moved to Canada, and there with the help of others discovered Penicillin, which has been a boon to humanity in curing diseases.
Previously incurable diseases were now being cured thanks to Penicillin. The name of the nobleman was Lord Randolph Churchill. His son’s name became Sir Winston Churchill, who became seriously ill with pneumonia later in life, and again a Fleming saved his life, this time by Penicillin. Two great families, two small and great deeds that display how a wave effect of good or ill can create other waves later elsewhere. And we applaud these fine examples of humanity at it’s best here. This amazing and true story tells of how a small good act can send out waves of goodwill that change some lives twice.
Winston Churchill, for example, who was truly a Lion Among Diamond Souls http://www.diamondsandgemstonesshop.com

Something women understand better than men, perhaps, is in the power of the eyes. What a difference we can observe when we meet someone new, is the look in their eyes. Are they smiling eyes full of good cheer, sparkling like diamonds, or are they, frightened, or suspicious, or grumpy lumps of coal? We see many each day it would seem. So this is on the topic of being inner driven as a Greek heroic antique figure such as Socrates, rather than relying on others to carry you at crucial moments until you expect it, to your doom, more of a nose in the air Cleopatra of Egyptian opulence and abundance and which we we choose is vital to who wins, leads, and ends happy.
For example, as Buddha did at age 80 in 480 B.C.E. So, rather than talk about Tibet and the rich heritage and batons of Chinese ancient treasures we will try to stay with the life of Buddha at the deeper level as we discuss that a life lived, as lived by Buddha, is now accepted by science, as the eight serene virtues that separate joyful people from those who are not.
If you are busy punching your way through life like one of the modern above versions of a mighty Roman Centurions it is vital to your life, your heart, your loved ones if you have any left, to reverse any negative buildup of angry thoughts and reactions. We need to notice how each angry reaction by ourselves makes us more miserable and more likely stressed and more vulnerable to any sneeze from a very sick person walking by. Then, we will catch and incorporate that sickness, especially if we are feeling weak, distressed, angry, or have been on a poor diet.
In contrast, we all know a more saintly person who lives a simple honest life and talks wise words of love like a modern lady diamond and he or she eats so healthy they makes us sick. Well, actually, we are making ourselves sick, they are making themselves even more healthy and happy by the day. Brilliant, yes? More Diamonds, Less Coal . Enough with the attitude of a bat, looking down on everything.
The more positive, healthy and good we are, keep cozy things near us such as our favorite dolls and figurines the sooner and better we take care of ourselves, the more a leader there is in us, if that is what is in us. And I say that after having reflected on my high school days of touch football, and the much higher level of understanding of a key element in keeping to the high ground, and do it with an inner sense of personal destiny.
If, for example your name is Alexander and you are at that academy with the other young princes from the other city states of ancient Greece . That you have leadership in you, you work on so much that you build an attitude and a reputation that of one will just will not give it up when all else wonder how in heaven we get out of this hole: all turn to the main man and look into his eyes. All who looked into the unusual blue eyes of an Alexander saw the fiery gaze of one who saw himself as destined, and death before dishonor as routine as life itself.
What Alexander may have shared in this sense was in a statement I just read the words of the father of Dan Marino of Miami football fame who said “In critical situations, they look into your eyes to see if you’re there. If you’re not there, they start quitting”.
Those eight virtues that cause people to live longest, most healthy, and more joyful lives than the average, as researchers at the University of California found, are to count your blessings, do acts of kindness, savor the joys of life, thank a mentor, learn to forgive, stay close to friends and family, take care of your body, and develop strategies to cope with stress and hardship.
That is certainly how most winning athletes cover many of those virtues, and if they toss in the other half they are going to be long time winning and joyful group, who see inspired fire in each set of eyes. Everyone is home, lights all ablaze, fire in the boiler, home stretch we are in. Now, first, let us get out of this hole, and then punch our way home. Joyfully, merrily like everyone’s favorite little angel. Never mind my cleated boot, or fearful look, you are in my way to joy, Roy. Down you go, that’s a good boy.
Will be back to help you restore, just after I score. I am in huge pain, but will enjoy the champagne.
The most fight we have in us at any moment is to be seen in our eyes. No matter what your If your tribe sense that you have it in you that we can yet win, they look for it in your eyes. If you have doubts, they begin to give up. I, like you, notice how science is measuring everything from bliss to happiness and I do enjoy the combining of science into the humanities to measure happiness and bliss. Respect for yourself and others is vital.
We show you more here at Loose and Rare Diamonds and some affiliates you might find of interest as well. Enjoy. Make a million!

I had written an article about the brilliant humanity of Leonardo of the town of Vinci, and I feel that it also belongs on this, my most personal site. As it is said, diamond minds come to us rarely, and particularly, it was difficult to enjoy any quality lifestyles during the lifetime of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519). Events that unfolded during these years created general boundaries for the modern world new and old. By then a fellow citizen of what would become Italy had opened up a new world, while Leonardo was some times forced to move to Avignon in France while armies of Florence fought off Venice who fought them all off. Loose Cannons, One Diamond .
In fact in one of these flights for a more healthy lifestyle than dying, he brought along a painting, which he offered the King of France, who was also one of several Popes at that time, safe harbor.
So we should all stop our frowns that the Mona Lisa was war booty by some Napoleon, who did take much from many. But the Mona Lisa, we now learn, was as payment for several years protective custody, where he lived in secure luxury and created much. So, dear France, I take back my fierce glance: your Mona is yours, as if payment to Rome, for healthy lifestyles to Leonardo, until a nicer Borgia said it you can come home.
And my leap to the present is to touch on the point, about how Leonardo would discover a body in it’s complete sense, including doing autopsies to peel away a dead corpse of a human, skin through muscle to organs and bone. He did this once at an old home when he asked questions of a man in his nineties some of his ways. The gentle man talked as our wisdom today, he was poor but he counted his blessings. He tried to be kind and thoughtful to others. He could savor the joys of his long life during famines and plagues. He thanked everyone, was a forgiving soul. He was still close to his family, and he ate well, and walked. He was careful to not fall, as he saw many people end this way.
And then he died. Leonardo was so overwhelmed he requested, and was allowed to do a complete autopsy of this wonderful man. He found a body still inside so unusually young, while he had lived through so much.
So we do know that Leonardo painted the Mona Lisa as his inner eye saw her. He created her skeletal structure, and then filled in the organs and over them the layers of muscle. And over those layers he pulled on her skin, and popped in her eyes, and worked on her smile. There are many layers of muscle under that skin and those lips, and that is one of the magic of her eyes as well. They are rounded with layers, as people can see, that when you walk right to left, her eyes follow you. And her smile changes too. That is Leonardo for you.
My wonderful large book on Leonardo, I have mentioned before, was given to me by a wonderful man named John. He had been a navigator during World War Two, and his caution for air flack had him one of the few to have flown so many missions and made it back each time. They were usually the last to arrive, and always the other half of the mission to make it back had landed earlier, and had the best seats at the bar.
The other pilots, while mourning those did not return, could always tease the pilot of John’s aircraft, late again. But as always, John had kept them alive, and was evading killer fighters and every shooting site he could see. And if he had to zig zag them from Bavaria to Denmark he was taking them home in their same skin. But they were not heroes, as they were not first. But they did still survive, still were alive. Some times it is wise not to rush, but observe. Then orient yourself, decide, and then act on your nerve.
The lifetime of Leonardo of the town of Vinci was a time of turbulence and violence, yet also the flowering of the great enlightenment of the Renaissance, which began all around where ever Leonardo seemed to be. We notice how science is measuring events from wins in politics to happiness; we find some amazing ways that make us more a diamond mind than of coal.
One can enjoy the combining of science into the humanities to measure politics and use and wise use of power, diamonds or coal for brains at Loose and Rare Diamonds Auction . http://www.diamondsandgemstonesshop.com

This healthy lifestyles list of the most healthy and enjoyable foods from us to you via the learnings of the ancients, and very new, wise surveyors of such. So, first you wish to scan, like the warrior in you and observe. This will take days, come and go, print a list off, get all these into your habits. I am still working on this, and you want to also.
Meanwhile, we can try and taste and see if some new healthy foods will mix and match with the healthy foods & supplements you already are familiar, to become the best that we all can be. You will see I structured a list, as was my advise at that time. I may undo it, but that is process, you are interest in substance. That is, what are these wonder foods that all equal spinach you say.
Our spiritual adviser Popeye still prefers his spinach, but some of us on heart medicine must take care at not too many darkest greens, so powerful, but so potent in Vitamin K that our blood could be as thick as some skulls. You may want to check with your doctor if you are on heart or other medications. I love, but must avoid kept and spinach due to my heart medications.
You will be left to your own devices to test to find new foods to eat. So, here we are then: you want to eat many fruits and berries. That means just that. Eat them frozen, or rather after you have unfrozen what you need, but always frozen is OK, OK? But fresh is always best. Unless they were picked unripe and have gone bad by the time their old truck has reached you.
Now we are into the royalty: Blueberries,Raspberries, Strawberries, Cranberries,Choke berries, Dark Plumbs.
Below that hierarchy come Red Grapes, Papaya, Oranges, Mango, Red Delicious Apples, Kiwi, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew Melon, Lemons,Limes, Bananas, Pomegranate, Pear, Peaches, Green Grapes, Green Apples,Black Currents, Red Currents, Gooseberries, Gage,Tangerine, Mandarin, Mulberry, Quince, Passion Fruit.
Golden Delicious Apples have half the potency of red. Then comes Coconut, Yellow Plum, Loquat(A Japanese Plum), Cherries.

The Most Healthy Herbs and Spices in the World are: Saffron, Bay Leaf, Rosemary, Paprika, Black Pepper, Oregano, Parsley, Sage, Thyme, Mint, Celery Seed, Basil, Cinnamon, Tarragon Leaves, Dill Weed. All have anti oxidant power. Coriander, Chives, Caraway Seeds, Sweet Marjoram, related to Oregano, Chervil(Best fresh), Chamomile, Sorrel, Angelica, Anise, Balm, Juniper, Hyssop.
As nuts, grains and supplements are another story we will return with more about nuts, with more details about which are best.
We know darkest is best in fruits and vegetables now, So there are few surprises, as Kale, Spinach, Broccoli, Swiss Chard, Carrots, Red Native Corn, Red Cabbage, Yams, Sweet Potatoes, Tomato (OK, it is a Fruit), Red Peppers, Golden Cream Corn, Yellow Bell Peppers, Orange Bell Peppers, Black Olives, All Root Crops such as Cabbage, Beets, Rutabaga, Okra, Sugar Beet, Parsnip, Parsley, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This covers so many types of fruits and vegetables that you can consider as a complement to your meat or bean dishes., Those most healthy foods require further study. But here, one healthy surprise that is somewhat of a fruit is your daily treat of dark chocolate. Really. So heat up a bit, pour it over some fruit bits or whatever and however you choose. To your good health!
In our search for wisdom and healthy living, we have checked our lists so carefully, now we have the healthiest fruit and vegetables for the Queen’s navy. And us. Study, mix and match, see what blends best. Since we are considering only placing the finest of life enhancing foods inside us, and into our minds and souls, so we need to look at ways to simplify.
Can you imagine Buddha or Jesus in a line with a huge buggy of modern cheap junk from China? Or Henry David Thoreau? Or Gandhi? Did they not see this as mindless folly, the ways of empty lives to empty graves. We will list a few of our oldies are besties sites, where what you buy is so old it is now going back up in value, unlike the fake lead lined junk in those buggies all the way from China.
Are they making any more old Ming vases? No, but millions of fakes, you should get in line and get one. no you should not. Get ahead of the curve and get some Mings on your mantle, Mickey, and a few decades ago, you so aglow with health from mother earth, and now a knock upon your hearth. It is rich Susie Wing who wants her great grandma’s Mings who sit with your things along your mantle. Be inscrutable, Mickey, add 3 or 4 zeroes to your simple retirement heroes. But your only understand yes, not her other words for less.

As I had written this for another site, it seemed even more appropriate here on my own, to you. As we watch the numbers tick on the World Clock, it seems that healthy lifestyles continue to be coming to an end and now we can see. We can count off each second to the tenth power how much the temperature of the earth is increasing. This information from the United Nations, which is gathering information from every weather station on earth mostly now all on line. So we know when the seas will begin to turn all us coastal folks into members of the I love Venice club, and open our gondola concessions.
But that doesn’t solve the problem of all those jets in the sky, that the numbers will double and double again. Soon each rich new Chinese will want to see Paris again. Dear gasping mother earth says take the train, not the plane. So here is our loose diamonds blue pie in the sky vision, we present this to you. If you agree, send a message or three, jets are fueled by kerosine, which is that trail up there that spittles on you and me. So each day you get home, and have been out for a stroll, if the day has been cloudy it may be a jet roll. so have a good shower when you get there, and light not a candle to your kerosine hair.
Your hair is sprinkled with stardust so kerosine pure, or dirty to be honest, and that is for sure. So here is a plan, that the Economist ran. Sprinkle the globe, with a high tech railroad, under the sea between Siberia to we, and work on your project serene, while the transport gets you from Rio to Rome, or Moscow or Nome, London to Cairo, Johannesburg, up to Istanbul, then zip on back home. Look at a map, and imagine who might object. And work with those factors, and we have a fast track, that we must exclaim Such diamond thinking! . Again and again. Laptop all the way to Spain.
Rare diamonds of minds in China have begun, at which France and Japan have excelled, to fast track trains. Although also building some freeways, which America and Britain have tried. If China chooses the Anglo American vision on this and builds freeways for one billion cars, while they extend their coal burning plants, we will all soon live in a hellish gray skied hot place, in which we all become sicker. China privately admits it is losing perhaps ten percent of it’s productivity on sickness and lost time, and this is climbing, as is the global clock temperature chart.
The route is here. Or do we want to be noble, blind, so full of our manifest destiny and sense of being chosen, or that our jihad is more holy than your crusade, or that your ancestry in north Ireland creates in me a need to kill, to revenge that bloody hand. My father did extensive genealogy of our family, nobles, buffoons, and arrogant fools. I had an Irish American mother, but my English Canadian father once told me we were entitled to have in our English coat of arms the bloody hand of English in north Ireland.
I had to ask. It seems that when King James offered that northern quarter of Ireland to which ever English could put their hand on the soil first. And, speaking of fanatics, apparently we have in our blood that one ancestor of mine saw another boat was beating to the beach, he chopped off one hand and threw with great force, and it did land on the beach, which now made it his, and he was in charge. King’s Han Chinese hall monitors rules. To you, King James, from both my Irish heart and even my English soul, you should not have made such an intrusive, arrogant law.
And if we need to take a boat to Dublin, or even a non jet clean aircraft from Dublin to London, some how some more English and Moors and Christians and Jews and and blacks in south Africa could at least visit by train. Which would be a healthy change, and mighty refrain. Blue skies, nothing but blue skies, all day long. Is not possible. New coal plants to build. New jets to fly and spray us, coal in our lungs, kerosine in our hair. Do you have sum ting against progress, you did all this, we can too. Oh, where is that train, convert dear Boeing and we can soon tram to Spain. And that is my refrain, I will say again and again.
The lessons of history are clear. When your buggy whips are not good any more, remember you are in the transportation industry. Less planes, more trains, same companies.

Oh, where is that train, convert dear Boeing and we could soon train to Spain, enjoy the rain on the plain. And that is my refrain, I will say again and again.
The lessons of history are clear. When your buggy whips are not good any more, remember you are in the transportation industry. Less planes, more trains, same companies.

As noted before, it seems that the most ancient precious item out of creation, beyond even gold, was a diamond. A princess resplendent in her riches of gemstones and gold, would have a centerpiece that held a diamond to behold. All would gaze in awe, as this diamond of a person glided by, diamonds in her eyes, and splendor all around. And then there those human diamonds, in the east in China was Confucous, who taught of good behavior and obedience to the state, and he did not believe in an after life.
Then came Guatama Buddha (560-480 B.C.E.). Buddha was born as a prince, in a palace of diamonds . But at age 29 Prince Guatama left that behind to find in a simpler way to live, and to find peace somehow within. At that time the ancient religion of Hindhu beliefs held many fables and stories, in that the world was balanced on the back of a giant turtle, or gods with many arms. This also had a caste system that is hard for India to shake, and it had become a central part of the religion. At the top were the usually lightest skinned rulers and those of the court, who were closest to God.
Many religions still follow this 5,000 year old Brahmin superiority over other faiths. Buddha was actually in the second highest caste system, those of the warriors, who had to be that high, like modern civil servants but more as protection on their way to Nirvana first. Down it went until the darkest skin people were the real life and spiritual untouchables, and were perhaps going to have to undergo many transformations. And until that, their children were doomed as they to be the latrine duty for life. Never even loose diamonds for them, not in this life, or the next.
Buddha rejected all this. His quiet, diamond eyes found eight steps to bliss, painful discovery at a time. By the time of his gentle death at age eighty, a very old age for that time, he began with a simple meal with his family of friends, and they all began a final meditation as one in this life. At the end of the meditation, which my caste allows twenty minutes as perfection, gentle Buddha had followed his meditation into Nirvana so blissfully. A diamond of a life.
It was his three disciples, surely, that were wise and from the east, there to look into the eyes of baby Jesus. The next son of God would surely have eyes that glittered like diamonds, then they knew. And this search is how Buddhists, up in Tibet, as the ruling holy man is frail and dying, begin to prepare for their search. In the time after the death of their dear leader, they follow the trails of Tibet, and look into the eyes of each new born child. At times, it has taken them years, and when that baby is found, all holy men must agree.
When they look into those eyes they must all see Eyes that Sparkle like Diamonds and when the diamonds are there, then all praise their leader, and nurture him for life. And I think of the diamonds in the eyes of the mostly kindly at church, or in a shopping line, or in life. Researchers at the University of California have showed that there are eight general virtues of those who report most bliss and happiness in their lives, live the longest, report best health for age, gender, and income group. These sound an awful lot like the church going people who do charity work that I have known.
Such diamonds, I thought and still do, were those diamonds sparkling all around America that GHW Bush, the senior, to talk about, little halos of light. And I knew it was his compassionate conservatism saying we may have some budget cuts to the needy, as we get people less dependent on government. So come on, you diamonds and sparkles of light, pitch in. If you want government off your backs, then more volunteering will be needed. And he was mocked in cartoons as a sparkling airhead, which he is not. That empty hat belong to his son, we mostly agree.
But diamonds for her, from you, make her sparkle, eyes, through and through. So as you do your good deeds, heed these words of diamonds with soft, not hard, souls. These eight virtues to Nirvana are here, science proves Buddha. Count your blessings. Do acts of kindness daily. Savor the joys of life. Learn to forgive. I find this most effective by going first. I approached an old enemy from decades ago. He twitched as if here we go again. I said that whatever happened I could not go to my grave feeling badly. I asked for his forgiveness. You might try it and see what happens. I had a blabbing man shaking my hand, saying no it was really his fault.
Now when we pass, windows go down, friendly hand wave, both sets of eyes sparkle like diamonds. Stay close to your friends and family. Take care of your body. Science says we begin to lose life when we are no longer able when we are unable to get off the toilet without help. Our muscle mass and we, begin our gradual route to heaven with diamonds in our eyes and souls, or to hell with our Tibet Han policeman eyes of coal.
Swing that baton, wield that gun, people who only knew to love are so easy to shove. Those diamond eyes of monks wince, it is true, when hit by a billy club. Would not you? After his roaming and meditations, Buddha came to conclude, it was most wise to ask little, give much, be holy. All his followers understood. And then, when his meditation was over, the others made a shrine, which I have seen, of where he had last been. If all we do is that in life, it will be a place they plant flowers forever. With a diamond below.
Diamonds that sparkle; we all know what that means. It is the amazement of creation to make a diamond from a raw lump of coal. And the diamonds in the eyes, and the souls of some more, we discuss diamonds, and lumps of coal. Yet, we can notice how science is measuring everything from winning politics to happiness and we find some findings that are amazing, or make us with more Athens than Rome. It Is Her Diamond, Let Her Choose!
How we can and will be that again, rising up to our best. And if you are anything like me, you are hopeful yet cautious, fascinated with those who display such brilliance from within. Here we can enjoy the mix of science into the humanities to measure politics and use and wise use of power and how it is shown above. Enjoy. Shine on harvest moon.

This article I wrote for another site, but as it speaks of power and Brilliant Diamonds in thinking, or the lack of, it seems topical for this, my heart felt main site. I hope you enjoy the story and the irony. That is, the irony of ancient Chinese antiques history when the Economist says China was by far the richest nation in the world. Marco Polo was thought mad for all his wild stories of this fabled land, even though diamonds and gemstones, riches and silks that he wore ten layers thick under his beggars poor coat. There was also this advance in civilization called gunpowder, which was to change Europe forever. You had also real Brilliant Diamonds with you than just that, Marco.
In fact, one benefit of knowledge from Chinese antiques was the first use of gunpowder in Europe, not so far from Venice, over in those always feuding Balkan areas. Some genius filled a long narrow church bell with hard things and gunpowder and turned it sideways, and wicked it, lit it, again and again, and call me George or Dick but the castle wall was down, and us conquering heroes poured through the hole in the castle wall, and all inside died bloody deaths very soon. And western civilization was now on a quicker march, thank you China. No more building castles, other than for vanity in Texas or Dubai.
More thoughtful Greek antique ideals than those sword first apologize later Roman Heroic Antiques . Romulus, I wonder if it was that wolf milk from your mother. Sigh. And this return of China to expanding wealth and the return of the Middle Kingdom to be a respected, mighty force to be reckoned with is now seen by the British television station now allowed much greater access and freedom to move and film. We begin to feel joyful at the pure sweet innocent of the younger school children as they vote for the first time for a hall monitor. Tradition says much here, the English words on the screen tells us what the little cluster of girls at the camera ask, what is this vote? That is a very unusual question in the history of Chinese antiques it does sound like a very brilliant diamond of an ideal.
And when they learn of such a thing that does exist is such amazing news. It was almost a time and space warp moment back to Greek democratic ideals . You see them point to themselves, and their friends, and then over to the tallest boy, which is how tradition chooses we are told. But they all feel he is a bully and he pulls your shirt. We watch the days go by, and the camera crew now spend their time going home with a smaller boy who has told the smirking taller boy that he is a bully, a dictator. He sounded as if he was in Athens with a torch of Greek democratic ideals .
I almost fell over. The teacher put her hand to her mouth. The littler boy said if you think you are so right, let us have the class vote between us to see who they choose as hall monitor. The class explodes into cheers, which the English translation shows as yeah! Later, the taller boy is confident as he talks to his father on their way home. He is a faster thinker, he always had a quick answer, and the other finally had nothing else to say. The father pats his son and says we shall see. The next day, after the excitement dies down, and the votes are taken from a clear plastic box and counted, the smaller boy has been chosen! The classroom bursts into cheers and applause. You saw brilliant diamonds in all their eyes.
The teacher scolds the class that this is not tradition, and they must listen to the new hall monitor even though he is not tallest. He then gives a short speech, that he will ask politely. And he will not pull your shirt. The class again goes wild with cheering children, hugging all around, one tossing her favorite doll into the air. With a nervous, smiling teacher looking on. Perhaps at history. And meanwhile, the news tells us that this year for the first time that more Chinese will use or own a cellphone than Americans.
And how they will be able to use that cell phone may have them be a part of that rather disturbing video on the web. It shows the screen, the voice of an operator at Joe’s Pizza, take you through your life history by your call, which she knows is on your cell. She chats so much about your life, your voice is getting rather frantic, the bill is now huge. You ask how can you know all this about me, we have never met but you are on my way home and I just want a pizza? she smacks her gum and says oh we plugged into the system. Oops, you are just about out of gas, I see all your credit cards are maxed. Bring cash.
The Chinese version of this, now, is that we do not know what all may eventually happen to you if you are a proud citizen of this most glorious civilization ever, and keyboard in the words Tibet. Some Chinese girl, chewing gum or not, knows you want pizza from Tibet which is code for terrorist. Hide your saffron vintage dolls you trouble maker. Lock your door, Susie Wong, hide your jewelry box as well as your favorite tribal jewelry until the men with the batons get back on the train and go back up to Tibet.
There were several saffron robed skulls not bashed, so this was just a courtesy call. Big Panda will return, that lovable huggy fellow, so cuddly. See him cuddle Tibet? Well, China is only a baby democracy, still soiling itself, and cannot contain all it’s old habits at once. I understand they today lectured Greece for lack of security when that Tibet man with a flag ran past just when the leader of China was speaking of brotherhood. We can rest assured, I gather, the police of China will be much more quick than those old democracies in Athens. What do they know of crowd control? They may have thought, well, when on a stage in Athens, a man can have his moment, his statement. We will see none of that nonsense in Beijing. You can bet your Ming sword on that. Or your Chairman Now phone. Oh well, progress.
So it is a rather limited victory, the fact just reported, that more Chinese will be on the web this year than Americans. But try to type in words such as Tibet. Will there be a knock at your door by a man with a club? If he has lumps of coal for eyes, stay inside; the air is so filthy anyway. But if you see sparkling eyes of Diamonds As From Within , it may be a Buddhist monk in need of shelter in many ways: batons, filthy air, this is the greatest civilization? Not yet, but we can see your eyes also, as in Diamonds As From Within .
