Men and women feel thei hair is their reigning glory, their lioness mane that shows the world how and why our eyes are vibant, our step full of bounce and life, our stride confident, the tide with us, and we are on our way. It all shows in how we carry ourselves, and the pride of the herd takes his place as is her right.

And while we so rapsodize, we will introduce this new category, as we have been noticing many articles that do point out how the hair is one of the first to show suffering if we eat hurried meals, skip snacks as we need them, shorten our hours of sleep. Your draggy, unhealthy smoke filled hair will show and scare you if you look too quickly in the mirror in the morning. So, what can we do? We had discussed the issue of the search for happiness and bliss before, and it seems appropriate to discuss this further given events out of Tibet. We know that disciples of Guatama Buddha (560-480 B.C.E.) had found their way north into Tibet east down through Asia and up into China, and west as far as Greece and Egypt during the life of Buddha, say around 500 B.C.E. We have discussed how amazing the arrival of the usual three wise men from the east would bring offerings, and search for others with the eyes of diamonds. This is still the practice in Tibet when the holy leader approaches, and enters death. They may spend years, each three must agree after they have looked in the eyes of the new babies of Tibet.

And when they find those diamond eyes, they bow to their new leader on earth. And since Buddha died in 480 B.C.E. and Socrates far to the west was born in 469 B.C.E. this does seem to indicate that when Socrates became the blossoming of democratic, more thoughtful modern ideology about free speech and a belief in a serene divinity over looking all. Like all those hollow Romans in contrast to those thoughtful, noble Greeks, one must go deeper inside, and be much more a boy or girl scout than a corrupting selfish doomed shell of a deeply evolved, happy, blissful kind of person. We choose, and live with our thoughts, words and deeds. And the diamonds, or coal in our eyes, tells it all. As I had written this for another site, it seemed even more appropriate here on my own, to you. As we watch the numbers tick on the World Clock, it seems that healthy lifestyles continue to be coming to an end and now we can see. We can count off each second to the tenth power how much the temperature of the earth is increasing. This information from the United Nations, which is gathering information from every weather station on earth mostly now all on line. So we know when the seas will begin to turn all us coastal folks into members of the I love Venice club, and open our gondola concessions.

But that doesn’t solve the problem of all those jets in the sky, that the numbers will double and double again. Soon each rich new Chinese will want to see Paris again. Dear gasping mother earth says take the train, not the plane. So here is our loose diamonds blue pie in the sky vision, we present this to you. If you agree, send a message or three, jets are fueled by kerosine, which is that trail up there that spittles on you and me. So each day you get home, and have been out for a stroll, if the day has been cloudy it may be a jet roll. so have a good shower when you get there, and light not a candle to your kerosine hair.

Your hair is sprinkled with stardust so kerosine pure, or dirty to be honest, and that is for sure. So here is a plan, that the Economist ran. Which would be a healthy change, and mighty refrain. Blue skies, nothing but blue skies, all day long. Is not possible. New coal plants to build. New jets to fly and spray us, coal in our lungs, kerosine in our hair. Do you have sum ting against progress, you did all this, we can too. Oh, where is that train, convert dear Boeing and we can soon tram to Spain. And that is my refrain, I will say again and again.

The lessons of history are clear. When your buggy whips are not good any more, remember you are in the transportation industry. Less planes, more trains, same companies.

A story going the rounds of the net has brought me an alert from an engineer friend about the perils of diet soda. He has quit and sent a detailed story from a doctor who outlined how the sodium and chemicals inserted in diet soda to make the claim no sugar is creating a poisonous stew that millions drink in some vague sense that it feels refreshing and must be good or they would not sell it, right? Wrong, and we have been there before. The examples in this story were of several women who had MS or some other health problem, but had a habit of drinking diet sodas.

In this story, which seems plausible to me, they reported they were climbing out of their wheelchairs within weeks of avoiding diet sodas. One might hope that in so doing they might have eaten a kiwi or apple instead, and put nutrients, not poisons, in their body. What amazes me in this day and age that with all the information about, and the health advisers who must have been advising these people that the way to health is to only put healthy foods and drinks in your system: they had utterly ignored.

To do otherwise is to imperil your health. They must have heard those stories, and so do we all, and yet continue our foolish behaviors until we are in a wheelchair, a burden to all. Come on folks. We all must row our own boat, and carrying on willfully against all known knowledge defies rules of self respect and carrying your own weight. Some have made their brains so sluggish with the trans fats and toxins of prepared foods they are no longer thinking straight.

Healthy foods, water, teas, even coffee with milk and honey is good. The latest science health studies keep confirming natural foods are best and those ideas are like loose diamonds . Any junk pop or the chips and junk food all go together as naturally as becoming an unhealthy couch potato. That may not have been the case with these folks, although I suspect some of that came into the equation.

But it explains that lot of unhealthy people in line at the grocer, when you see a cart loaded with prepared foods, pops, junk, nary a fruit or vegetable to be seen. When that person gives you a dirty look for making your point with your eyes, tough. Who is going to subsidize her extensive hospital stays and medical visits, while she continues her ways. All we can do is keep talking, pointing out the obvious. Maybe yet the fat lady will look in our basket and ask what all that fresh fruit and vegetables is for. Eating. You should try some, some time.

We would all be better off. For me, luckily, I was not brought up on pop or junk, although like any child I loved sweets. But a plum is sweet. I think for me, and for you who realize you will walk more easily when you have less weight punishing your joints, is to do what I have done. Hold up in front of you the soda pop you will never drink in one hand, and a plum, or kiwi, or your favorite fruit in your other hand. Say goodbye to one, say hello to the other, and live happily ever after. What a rare diamond of an idea.

Then you know. If they are really angry with you, be the first to hear it, and then do all you can to make it right, apologize, ask for better suggestions on your next attempt at whatever…
  • 2. Divert with Good News: How well do you do Pollyanna? If you can scratch some real good news out of your what’s happening basket, this might be the time to bgin to brain tease on some what-if ideas talks, that involves him/her. Maybe you pull together a panel group to carry an idea, give him/her credit; win, win.
  • 3. Ask if there is something you can do, and show you mean it. Some times a thanks no, if followed up with an email or tip on some thing, earns you a private reply, and the beginnings of a more personal level of respect and earned friendship. Never rush, but allow it be known you are available, very much a concerned and involved member of this marriage/work team.
  • 4. A small gift. Any small personal things, some times, can make you all laugh, and relax. Use your imagination, based on your circumstances.
  • 5. Stay away. You know when. If the bear is raging, snarling at everyone, kicking the dog, best slip out the back door, go smell the rose. Come back in when it is quiet, show surprise at all the blood and mess, offer to help clean up.

People who eat high protein eggs rather than carb high cereals for breakfast lose weight quicker.

  • The office was dark and cold. Angel was back east, checking in with the Chief. Family, they were catching up on much, and were also preparing a new spread on healthy recipes. So many of grandma’s recipes can be adapted more scientifically with higher nutrient value, and yet with a newly discovered old plant as a vibrant cancer or heart fighter, we adapt, taste test, and learn.

  • To have grandma say, “It’s not quite the same”, we will take as a compliment, grandma. By extracting some, most, of the animal fats and replace with plant or fish oils, so many studies build or rebut previous “knowns”. Which is why we are creating two healthy lifestyle web sites, one for updated information and historic reflection on healthy living; the other you will soon be able to link to will take and incorporate that into a new, or existing recipe.   • One such is the question, what is best for breakfast? All studies confirm breakfast is most important meal of the day. We are “breaking” our night long “fast”, and our body needs a belly full of healthy energy-creating foods. Eggs are loaded with protein. But. We all have heard so much that the egg yolk is loaded with “bad” LDL chlorestorol, and it is. It is also a powerhouse of other nutrients including large amounts of “good” HDL, and also we find there is “good” and “bad” LDL. The “bad” LDL is small, sticky, the bad stuff that sticks to the arteries.   • Extensive study of many studies recently in a new diet book, and in Men’s Health discusses this at length, which we will over several articles. the absolute proof does not seem to be in, new questions have been raised, and we should imagine that extensive and large studies on this are underway.
  • But, for a change these past three days, my breakfast has been 2 pieces of fat free ham and 2 boiled eggs, with some 2% fat yogurt, and lightly stewed tomatoes and a yellow pepper, an hour ago. And I feel great, with milk in my coffee.
  • Otherwise, the bowl of high fibre grains and berries with milk allowed me my protein, almost, but too much sugar rush from those powdered portions of grains, even though they were whole grain.

  • Keep checking with our doctors, don’t go to extremes either way, but these studies seem to show that a higher protein low carb diet may be in fact healthier than the high carb cereal low fat. We need that fat, but it can be plant or fish oil or fat, or our body can’t fully process the foods coming through our systems. I have wanted to share this news with Angel and the Chief, but until we get on the conference call, I’ll keep checking these facts again, so many scientists are behind progress in other areas, I am noticing, God hasn’t created a Heavenly Directory for all to plug into for the actual factual latest, so we keep reading, studying, and doing the sensible, healthy things. The human liver is one of the only organs that can rebuild part of its dead tissue. To a point.

  • And we all know that beyond that point of no repair the liver loses its elasticity and beguns to turn into more like a dead old dried out sponge beyond repair in the full process of cirrhosis, a chronic liver diseease in which normal liver tissue is replaced with scarred, nonfunctional tissue.
  • “People who are at risk drink 15 or more drinks a week, or regularly have more than 5 at a time”, says Mark Mailliard, M.D., director of the hepatitis C program at the University of Nebraska. And this doesn’t happen only to choronic or binge drinkers, although they are the greatest sufferers of this unnecessary early death.
  • Your liver is really just a sponge full of chemicals, and a compounds called glutathione (GSH) helps keep everything in check. Not only does GSH detoxify things Tylenol (which is why drinkers should NEVER take Tylenol, the mix becomes toxic). GSH is essential for liver regeneration. Lab rats unable to create GSH are also unable to grow back liver tissue. Shelly Lu, M.D., says “we are not sure how it works, that’s the black box.
  • In Europe, SAM-e, a supplement that converts to glutathione in the liver can bring your GSH back to normal, and is actually prescribed for liver disease. The standard dose there is 1.2 grams (g), or about 3 tablets per day.
  • If you are a drinking person, you should also be taking folic acid and a B-vitamin complex daily, because they are essential in the formation of SAM-e and glutathione.
